Now and then, we like to highlight customer experience with Farin’UP mixes. While we love talking about our product, we believe it’s important to hear from the customer about their personal experience and review from using our mixes.
We spoke with Lori Molina of Phoenix, Arizona, who recently left us a review about her baking experience. Lori, mother of three, aunt of one, represents many time-pressed, hard-working mothers in the bustling Phoenix Metropolitan area. She wanted to prepare a homemade dish, but also had limited time to prepare it.
Lori gave us the scoop on how she found Farin'UP to be a solution to her time dilemma. By selecting a product that simplifies her baking steps, she was able to cut down time in the kitchen and involve her children in the process of making tasty goodies.
Sometimes, when you introduce a new food to children they do put up a fight as you say. That's great that your kids viewed the mixes as food they already liked!
Q: What caught your attention most about the products?
A: The packaging! I think the cartoonish and French design is fun! But everything we ordered, cookies, brownies, and crêpes, are still familiar foods. My kids aren't old enough to challenge their palettes without putting up a fight! Luckily, I didn't have to.
Q: You mentioned this was your first online order. What if you had been in the store? What would have caught your attention then?
A: Instead of picking up the products in the grocery store, we got them online, and it’s always exciting to expect a package. I'd have to say it was the European character that captured our attention, and so it most likely would have been the same in the store. I just couldn't help but turn the package around to read a little more about Louis.
Q: Which mixes did you buy?
A: We had one product from the breakfast collection, Le Fabulous Tasty Crêpes, and two desserts, Les Delicious Brownies and Le Tasty Cookies.
Q: Which mixes were your favorites?
A: We all loved the brownies the most, and the crêpes were a close second. The crêpes were slightly more complex of a project than the other goodies but well worth it!! My husband enjoyed making something new, and the kids and I enjoyed eating them!
Right on! French crêpes are similar to American pancakes, but as they are lighter and thinner, using a shallow, non-stick, heavy bottom pan will make the sliding and flipping of the crêpe a bit easier. Now you have a tip for next time! We are happy to see your husband appreciated the new experience and you and your kids appreciated the taste!
Q: How long did it take to prepare your favorite Farin'UP mix, the brownies?
A: The brownies were the quickest to make; the longest step was melting the butter! The cookies were almost as fast; they just needed to be formed instead of just being poured out.
The Baking Process
Ah...yes. Forming the cookie dough into its shape and pressing it onto the baking sheet. The kids must have enjoyed that!
Q: What was the process of baking with young children?
A: I made the cookies with my four-year-old girl and nine-year-old niece. They loved helping. The fact that I got my most reluctant and youngest child to smile for pictures throughout the process speaks volumes about how much fun these were to make, and just the atmosphere of doing something sweet together.
A Unique Product
Q: Is the product different to other products and if so, how?
A: These products were different in a couple of ways. The packaging is different. They each have two batches, and they are easily resealed. Most baking mixes I've used are enough for only one batch, and they are not packaged in a way to be stored. I've also never melted butter for a mix before. I've only ever added fresh eggs, milk, or water. I think the butter adds to the flavor!
The difference an easy-pour spout makes! Storage and clean-up seemed to have been a breeze for you.
Yes, it was, which is excellent when you have four children (and a husband!) who love to eat, but also leave a mess! This time, they didn't have the chance of creating a mess because everything was so neatly packaged and easy to handle. It was very kid-friendly. They were also very willing to help.
Q: Would you recommend Farin'UP products to someone else?
A: Of course. I really did enjoy these products. It's as simple as it comes and really delicious. Everyone in our family loved the experience. It was quick for me, fun for the kids, and not messy for anyone!
Lori, thank you so much for a more in-depth review of your experience! We hope you continue to enjoy baking with your family in a relatively easy, mess-free way, with the convenience of having homemade dishes delivered to your doorstep.
